Lambda Alpha Epsilon
Iota Sigma Chapter
Indiana State University Mission Statement of Lambda Alpha Epsilon Iota Sigma Chapter
- We are students who are serving the needs of the Criminal Justice System.
- A few selected from the organization are currently working for the
prosecutor’s office on a graffiti research project.
-We promote careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation, and parole.
- Students in this Criminal Justice fraternity are seeking careers that
will benefit the citizens of the United States. We want to make
students more sought after in the job market. We want to help
students understand that a career in the Criminal Justice field
demands honor, respect, and service to his or her fellow colleagues
and their community.
- As members, we have been able to take a variety of field trips to
many correctional institutions such as the Rockville State
Penitentiary, and the Putnamville Correctional Facility.
-We serve the needs of the citizens of the Terre Haute community.
- During Christmas break of 2007, and 2008, students from L.A.E.
helped to raise money and provide presents to select families in the
Terre Haute community for a Christmas day celebration. These were
families in need of our support and we did everything that we could
to make those Christmases the best for those families.
-Dedicate time and effort to help and support the Indiana State University
Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice program.
-Active participation in L.A.E. is strongly encouraged at all meetings and
events to help members attend national conferences with other chapters
in the country.
- Students that participated in the past in the majority of the events,
activities, and meetings were chosen by the officers and faculty
advisor to attend the American Criminal Justice Association
conference.
-We strive for professionalism and excellence.
- We hold our members to a high level of responsibility and
accountability regarding class room work and the manner in which
each member represents themselves and the Criminal Justice System.
Iota Sigma chapter is a CHEMICAL FREE ORGANIZATION.
Who are we?

I, (name) humbly recognizing the responsibilities entrusted to me, do vow that I shall always consider the high calling of criminal justice to be an honor-able profession, the duties of which are recognized by me as both an art and a science.
In my daily life I shall strive to be both a student and a teacher in the art and science of criminal justice. I shall acquire due know-ledge of the ethics of the profession of the criminal justice system in my domain and constantly seek to contribute to it in the best of of my ability.
I will support and uphold the Constitution and By-Laws of Lambda Alpha Epsilon and do my best to carry out the aims and purposes of the association.
