A Note to Freshman:

The first time you step foot on a college campus is not only exciting, but can also be slightly frightening. This is an important time in your life. It is important to get plugged into an organization that is exciting, forward-thinking, and people based. At LAE, you will find all that and more. We believe it is important to reach out to you as freshman every year so we can do our part in making this step in your life a little easier.

Every year, you can find us at “ISU Fest” near the fountain that the center of campus. We also host a “Fall Bash” outside of the east side of Holmstedt Hall (HH).

What benefits do we have to offer?

1. -As a local chapter of LAE, Iota Sigma has a lot to offer to criminology and criminal justice majors and minors. We are a growing organization, and the more members we have, the more we can do. We are looking forward to the 2009 school year to eclipse everything we have done in the past.
   

2. -We have been very privileged in the past to participate in Indiana State University’s annual homecoming celebration, as well as other activities benefiting the students and faculty of this campus.
   

3. -We go beyond the boundaries of campus to reach the community of Terre Haute and Vigo County, Indiana. We have been able to raise enough money in the past to adopt families for Christmas. We overflowed their Christmas tree with gifts and gave them months worth of food.

In addition to all the aforementioned benefits, some members get the chance to go to national conventions sponsored by the Grand Chapter. Not only are these events fun , but they provide a great wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities.

Final Notes:

It doesn’t matter if you’re a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, or transfer student, you are welcome at anytime. Though we have recruitment events, we accept new members at anytime.
